Tellmies and Showmies: a perfect pair
You can see the Showmie as the fixed counterpart to our mobile Tellmies. The Showmie is installed at fixed locations in the exhibition and responds when a Tellmie comes close. The Showmie can play audio, but can also control lighting and sound systems

This allows you to fine-tune the interaction with the Tellmie to effects happening all around you in the space. In Huisje Warnsveld at the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum, this results in historical memories emerging from an authentic object and coming to life in the surrounding environment*.
Timed with the audio story, spotlights switch on to illuminate photos on the wall being discussed, you hear airplanes flying overhead when the story mentions them, and dishes appear on the table that match the memories being recalled.
Other connections
All of our products can communicate with each other and coordinate their actions. Even the Boxie can “talk” to the Showmie.
The Showmie can also control a classic show control system or other standard media systems and computers.
*) At the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum, we are currently still working with a predecessor of the Showmie that controls a classic show control system—but it already clearly shows what kind of results are possible.
